The Advent Of All- Digital TV Broadcasting-- Bane Or Boon To Advertisers?

I'm more inclined to believe that the national switch to all- digital broadcasting will, in the main, be a boon to small business/small budget advertisers...

Products, Platforms and Programs used by Internet Marketers can now be readily adapted to the general TV viewing public for much less cost then a standard campaign on the dying analogue system. Imagine the power of creating a video ad for your product "You Tube" style, and then being able to upload that same ad to TV from your own computer... That possibility is what's really exciting me these days! :)

The main problem that I can immediately see is that old-school bug-a-boo called Spam... Digital TV might just become the next playground for spammers from around the globe, just like Web 1.0 was and is... I am certain that with superior security employed by the newer TV networks, this will not be a concern... But it's the older, public sector TV networks, those who are just now approaching "The Digital Age", that might get smacked around by the Digital Bandits, and this could possibly lead to infections all around... ( I just had funny moment from visualizing a typical adult spam pop up suddenly appearing on one of those early morning farm reports. LOL!)

But let's see where you and your business can go with this digital TV stuff...

We Marketers, offline and online, have a long-standing agreement with Creativity, Effectiveness and Economy.

Those three features will be severely challenged, but enhanced, as we meet our New Markets, in the form of the coming Digital Audience. We can now glom and gleen information about them from currently acessible TV marketing statistics and research studies.

These current items have now become a very valuable resource for the Internet Marketing Community ie: Those who have no experience with marketing and advertising offline, as well as the Print Only M/A community... We have the chance to get ahead of the curve, like never before... Time to "Think Multi-Media" (It always was, really) BIGTIME!

Don't go all "Digital TV Fever" just yet-- We as a community should be aware that Network TV, digital or not, can become an expensive exercise in non-profitablilty, if we don't do our "Old School" Homework... A trip to the "Successful Past" of marketing and advertising campaigns can be had by going to your nearest Public Library- "The Original Search Engines", as I like to refer to them...

Learning how to market to Human Beings is the Paramount Idea being inferred to here... No matter what the platform is, we Entrepreneurs, Businesses and Just Plain Salesfolk, must remember the Human Beings that we are trying to get our messages to...

It's funny to me that it takes a step backwards, to see how to move forward, but that just the way it is! :)
